How to reach us:

By car from MONDOVI' highway: 

From the highway exit, follow directions for Cuneo. Once you reach Beinette, turn for Chiusa Pesio and drive along the valley until you reach Certosa di Pesio.  Continue for another 2.5 km until Pian del Gorre. Here you have to leave your car and continue on foot. 

 

By car from CUNEO highway: 

Go in the direction of Madonna dell’Olmo and by driving on the Circonvallazione Nord (North ring road), reach Cuneo. Follow directions for Mondovì, drive through Bainette and continue all the way to Chiusa Pesio. Drive along the valley until you reach Certosa di Pesio.  Continue for another 2.5 km until Pian del Gorre. Here you have to leave your car and continue on foot. 

 

By bus from CUNEO train station:

There are 5 daily rides towards Chiusa Pesio San Bartolomeo and 2 or 3 which continue all the way to Certosa di Pesio (savgroup).

 

On foot from PIAN DELLE GORRE (1040 m) by direct route:

Take the dirt road on the left of Gorre's Refuge. Go up until Il Salto (1192 m, h 0.20). As the road widens, on the left you will find track H1 in the direction of Rifugio Garelli.

You will then reach the Gias Sottano di Sestrera (1330 m). Here the track forks: the right path  goes towards the Marguareis lake, while the left path goes towards Rifugio Garelli (track H8). Keep walking in the fir-wood until the end, when you reach Pian delle Vipere (1636 m). From here the track continues with some curves with more open spaces, until you reach Gias Soprano di Sestrera (1840 m). From here you can admire the valley and the Marguareis. In the distance, 130 meters higher up, you can spot the Rifugio Garelli.

Within another half hour, you can reach the Rifugio Garelli, situated on the rocky promontory of Pian del Lupo (1970 m).

We suggest visiting the alpine botanical site Bicknell-Burnat, created by the Park with the aim of preserving from extinction the various botanical endemisms of the Maritime Alps and Liguri Alps.

On foot from PIAN DELLE GORRE (1040 m) following the track of the "Marguareis tour":

Follow the track on the left of the Refuge Pian delle Gorre (1032 m) and turn left towards Pian del Creus (Track H6). A steep path through the white fir woods of Buscaiè leads to the charming Pian del Creus (1269 m). After passing the fresh spring of Mantras, you reach the Gias Madonna (1653 m). Here turn right and walk slightly downwards, then upwards, and then straight for a long way until the Gias della Costa. From the Gias the path rises slightly on the left and crossing the brook, after a few curves and an other crossing, you reach Gias Soprano di Sestrera (1842 m) which connects to the previous track.

On foot from CARNINO Val Tanaro:

From the cluster of houses at Carnino (1397 m), walk up towards the Vallone della Chiusetta (Track H3) then turn right at approximately 1700  m towards the steep pass of the Mastrelle (2023 m, track A4) which leads towards the Conca di Piaggia Bella. The track is along the entry of the homonymous cave e proceeds towards the Colla del Pas (2340 m) from which you can enjoy a beautiful 360 degrees view of the horizon. Down on the right of the track your can spot the Saracco Volante, a scientific hut of the speleologists. From the hill, you walk down to the Ratoira lake (2171 m, track G5) and then you take the slightly ascending track on the left which leads you to the Passo di Porta Sestrera (2225 m, track G6b,G6). Soon after passing the pass, you can spot the Rifugio Garelli which can be reached in about 20 minutes.
