HOW TO REACH US:
BY CAR FROM MONDOVI' (HIGHWAY):
From the toll booth, follow signs for Cuneo. Once you reach the town of Beinette, turn towards Chiusa Pesio and continue along the valley until you reach Certosa di Pesio. From here, continue for another 2.5 km until Pian del Gorre, where you can leave your car and start the hike.
BY CAR FROM CUNEO (HIGHWAY):
Take the road towards Madonna dell'Olmo and, via the northern bypass, reach Cuneo. Follow signs for Mondovì, cross Beinette, and continue towards Chiusa Pesio. From here, proceed as described in the previous itinerary.
BY BUS FROM CUNEO TRAIN STATION:
There are five daily buses to Chiusa Pesio San Bartolomeo, and two or three that continue on to Certosa di Pesio (Savgroup).
ON FOOT FROM PIAN DELLE GORRE (1040 M) VIA THE DIRECT ROUTE:
Take the dirt road to the left of Rifugio delle Gorre that climbs to Il Salto (1192 m, about 0.20 hours). From the clearing, the H1 trail towards Rifugio Garelli begins on the left. First, reach Gias Sottano di Sestrera (1330 m), where the H1 trail branches off to the right towards the Marguareis Lake and to the left towards Rifugio Garelli (H8 trail). Continue through the fir forest until reaching Pian delle Vipere (1636 m). From here, the trail continues with some switchbacks in a more open area until you reach Gias Soprano di Sestrera (1840 m), where the view opens up to the valley and the Marguareis, with the Rifugio just 130 m higher. In about 30 minutes, you'll reach Rifugio Garelli, situated on a rocky promontory near Pian del Lupo (1970 m). It's recommended to visit the Bicknell-Burnat alpine botanical station, created by the park to preserve the endemic plant species of the Maritime and Ligurian Alps from extinction. ON FOOT FROM PIAN DELLE GORRE (1040 M) VIA THE GIRO DEL MARGUAREIS TRAIL:
Follow the road to the left of Rifugio Pian delle Gorre (1032 m) and turn left for Pian del Creus (H6 trail). With a steep climb through the Buscaiè white fir forest, you'll reach the beautiful Pian del Creus (1269 m). After passing the fresh Mantras spring, you'll reach Gias Madonna (1653 m). Here, turn right with a slight descent, and after a short climb, take a long traverse leading to Gias della Costa. From Gias, the trail rises slightly to the left and crosses the stream. After some switchbacks and another traverse, it reaches Gias Soprano di Sestrera (1842 m), where it connects with the previous route. Time: About 4 hours Water sources along the route

ON FOOT FROM CARNINO VAL TANARO:
From the village of Carnino (1397 m), head up towards the Chiusetta valley (H3 trail), then deviate right at about 1700 m towards the steep Passo delle Mastrelle (2023 m, A4 trail), which leads into the Piaggia Bella basin. The trail runs alongside the entrance of the cave with the same name and continues to Colla del Pas (2340 m), where you can enjoy magnificent views. Below, to the right of the trail, you can see Saracco Volante, a scientific cabin for speleologists. From the pass, descend to the Ratoira Lake (2171 m, G5 trail) and take the trail that gently ascends to the left towards the Passo di Porta Sestrera (2225 m, G6b, G6 trail). After passing the pass, you'll spot Rifugio Garelli, which can be reached in about 20 minutes. Time: About 4 hours Water sources along the route
